Areas of research interests: oncology, genetics, oncogenetics, cytology, entomology, population biology. For a long time, he studied the role of centromeres in the process of oncogenesis. He studied the cytogenetics and cytology of acute leukemias and lymphomas in children, the phenomenon of premature separation of centromeres in oncogenesis. In addition to these studies, since 2000 he has conducted research in the field of entomology and population biology of insects. He created a zoological museum at the Precarpathian National University.
