Studies

At the Department of Biology and Ecology research work is carried out in the following areas: botany (floristics, phytocenology, population biology of plants, phytomorphology, dendrology), zoology (entomology, population biology of animals), ecology (protected area, ecosystems, bioindication), cytogenetics and plant physiology. Scientific research is devoted to the study of biota and ecological condition of natural and anthropogenically disturbed territories of the Ukrainian Carpathians, Precarpathians, Opillya and Pokuttya.
The department works on the implementation of the following scientific topics and projects:
1. “Population-ecological studies of phyto- and zoocenoses of anthropogenically disturbed and natural ecosystems of the Carpathians and adjacent territories” (State registration number UkrINTEI 0112U000509; scientific supervisor – Prof. Parpan V.I.).
2. “Distribution, resource potential and protection of medicinal plants in the Carpathian region” (State registration number UkrINTEI 0112U000508; scientific supervisor – Prof. Parpan V.I.).
3. “Ecological monitoring of natural and anthropogenically disturbed ecosystems of Precarpathians” (State registration number UkrINTEI 0112U000507; scientific supervisor – Prof. Parpan V.I.).
4. “Violation and adaptation of multilevel biosystems in the conditions of anthropogenic transformation of the environment” (State registration number of UkrINTEI №0114U005004; scientific supervisor – Assoc. Prof. Mylenka M.M.).
